My Name is Ida Hills and I am a Professional Personal Chef. That means I develop customized meal programs for my clients. I shop for groceries and prepare them in the safety of their own kitchens. I then package and store the meals with specific handling instructions so they can be enjoyed at their convenience. When my clients come home from a long day, they don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner anymore. They can enjoy healthy delicious meals in the comfort of their own home.
I speak with interested clients over the phone, providing any additional information about my services. During this initial contact interview, I will find out what my clients needs are and how often they will use my service. I will guide them through the process of hiring a Personal Chef. Once I fulfill any informational needs of my client, and I make sure they understand that I am licensed, insured, and I have a safe food handler’s certificate, I will then schedule a live assessment meeting.
During the assessment meeting I will go to the client’s home. The client and I will fill out an assessment form to find out about the clients likes and dislikes, any allergies, medical or dietary
requirements, that need special attention, preferred frequency of service and method of payment. I’ll need to know the size of the family and whether or not they eat dinner together to determine what size containers I will package their food in. I will then ask to see the kitchen while in the home to determine equipment needs. Afterwards we will develop a menu and discuss pricing. I will charge a base price plus the cost of food. I will then assign a cook date for my client and fill out a service agreement form. Everything discussed during the assessment will be included on the form. After my client and I finalized the agreement, my client and I will sign the service agreement and they will write me a check for food and my service.
On the cook date I gather all of my recipes, grocery list, and equipment then head out to the supermarkets for fresh wholesome ingredients. I’ll show up at my client’s home at the requested time and start cooking my meals. When all of my meals are finished, I cool them down to the proper temperature, package, label, and place them in the freezer. Before leaving I will clean every thing I used. The only evidence that I’ve been there will be the pleasant aroma coming from the kitchen along with my magnetized card on the refrigerator holding the heating instructions. When my clients reheat their food, it will be as fresh as if they spent all that day cooking it themselves.
